Santos Acuna, PT, MPT, CMPT, ATC has more than 20 years of physical therapy experience. From the West Coast to the East Coast and with stops along the heartland, Santos has utilized and honed his therapeutic skills. While completing his Physical Education Bachelor's degree with a Certification in Athletic Training , Santos worked as the assistant women's gymnastic coach for USGF affiliated Aztec Gymnastic Club, Grossmont College, and California State University, Chico. Continuing his love in Sports Medicine, Santos Received his Master in Physical Therapy from Chapman University.
Combining his manual skills and excitement for travel, Santos embarked as a traveling physical therapy throughout the United States. This allowed him the opportunity and experience to treat a diverse population from professional tennis players at the Indian Wells Masters, to high school athletes in Escanaba Michigan, to Ballet School students in Boston. In 2009 New York became his permanent home working as the backstage physical therapist for Broadway’s Lion King and Punchdrunk Theatre Company, Sleep No More.
Santos’ expertise and commitment has always stemmed from a focus on continuing education and a dedication to his patients. He is a graduate of the Kaiser Permanente Hayward, CA Physical Therapy Residency Program and currently completing his CMPT through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manuel Therapy. His unique nationwide experience in treating diverse populations in dance, gymnastics, theater and sports combined with advance training in manual skills gives Santos the skills, empathy, and knowledge to achieve his patient's goals.
